Postgraduate Taught Student Experience Survey
Increasing response rate and sample sizes
Programme Directors are requested to work with members of the PTES team in increasing sample sizes. It has been found that sample sizes may be improved if students are invited to take part in surveys by academic staff who leads or teaches on their programme. Therefore, emails to students inviting them to take part in PTES are to be sent by the Marketing Department on behalf of the Programme Director for each programme.
Programme Directors may then be asked to send targeted emails to students on programmes that have not achieved a sample size of 10 later in the fieldwork period. They may also be asked to give lecture ‘shout outs’ (or ask colleagues to do so) for programmes that have been identified as having lower response rates.
Developing and implementing action plans
A report from the annual PTES survey will be provided to the Associate Deans PG Taught Group. The PG Associate Deans will then be responsible for developing and implementing Action Plans for their School. It is expected that Programme Directors will work with the PG Associate Deans to develop and implement these plans whilst discussing results and actions with students.
