It is the responsibility of the Programme Director to oversee the regulations in relation to any Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies (PSRB) that accredit their programme. In addition, if the reaccreditation with the PSRB falls within your tenure as Programme Director you will manage this process and tasks delegated appropriately throughout the Programme Team. As each accreditation/re-accreditation process will be unique to the particular PSRB it is essential that the Programme Director has full understanding of what is required. It is important to note that accreditation/re-accreditation is often a considerable undertaking and, as such, appropriate time and resources should be set aside. In addition, that accreditation/re-accreditation is a continuous process and that appropriate records and documentation must be maintained and requirements adhered to throughout your tenure, whether the accreditation/re-accreditation falls during this period or not.

It is also important that, as the Programme Director, you foster an open and collaborative partnership with any PSRBs that accredit your programme. It is likely that a named person within the PSRB will be your primary point of contact. Details of this person should be passed on to you when you take up your tenure as Programme Director. The Programme Director must stay up to date with any regulatory changes and ensure that the programme moves in line with these.

Details of Programme Accreditation are available on MAP using the MAP Staff Homepage, by clicking on the container ‘All Staff: Actions’ and entering the programme code. The relevant professional accreditations for the programme will then be displayed. This data is maintained by the School Quality Officers.
